The IMPRS “From Molecules to Organisms” is an international PhD program offered jointly by the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory and the Eberhard Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany. Students highly motivated about research should have or be about to obtain an excellent University degree (at Masters or German diploma level) in the life sciences or a related discipline. -Students from Bachelor courses at German universities should only apply if they can demonstrate extensive research experience and outstanding grades (graduating within the top 10% of their class).
-Applicants with degrees from non-European countries must submit a GRE General Test score.
-There is no age limit.

Scholarship Description: The Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen will award the doctoral degree. Doctoral students benefit from regular workshops and supervising tutors at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory and the University of Tübingen. The school’s aim is to endow scientists to study complex biological processes. The program of the school is challenging and innovative because it bridges not only diverse disciplines but also spans several levels of biological organization (from molecules to organisms). The language of all lectures at the IMPRS is English.

MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP (MIS)

The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to support Malaysian Government's effort to attract, motivate and retain talented human capital from abroad.
Talented international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship and further their studies in any selected and well-established Malaysian public and private universities. This scholarship is divided into two (2) categories of study: Postgraduate and Post-doctoral Studies
ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must fit the following criteria:-
  1. Not be more than 40 years of age during application.
  2. Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
  3. Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required:
    1. IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or
    2. TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.
  4. In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants.
  5. Wrote a proposal that is relevant to the needs and interests of Malaysia (research-based programme only).
  6. Has applied for and gained admission to postgraduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application or has a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation with the universities in Malaysia).
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIPS
Each scholarship consists of:-
  1. Air tickets from recipient’s capital city to Malaysia
  2. An approved tuition fees
  3. Monthly maintenance allowance
  4. Annual grant for books and internal travel
  5. Medical / Health Insurance
  6. Installation and Termination grant
  7. Thesis allowance
  8. Visa

SELECTION CRITERIA
Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:-
  1. High-level academic achievement
  2. The quality of the research proposal and its potential contribution towards advancement of technology and human well-being.

GENERAL CONDITION OF AWARD
  1. Scholarship holder must undertake full-time studies for postgraduate and post-doctoral studies at a campus of Malaysian Universities.It is the responsibility of the scholarship holders to confirm admission to the university.
  2. Scholarship holders must not change their programme during tenure of the scholarship except with written permission from their university and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
  3. Scholarship holders must follow the approved programmes and abide by the university’s rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
  4. Any suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of award. Monthly allowances are not payable during suspension, including suspension due to illness.
  5. It is the responsibility of successful candidates to apply for and meet the requirements for the issuing of an appropriate entry visa including medical examination. The offer of the scholarship does not guarantee the granting of a visa.
  6. Scholarship holders must maintain satisfactory progress and good standing as stipulated by their host university and degree programme, or the scholarship will be withdrawn.
  7. The scholarships are tenable in Malaysian universities and research must be carried out in Malaysia.
  8. Scholarship holders are not allowed to take any paid employment during their tenure unless with written approval from the host university.

Beca para PhD en Economía - Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna - Italia


Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and University of Strasbourg invites application for International Doctoral Program in Economics in Italy. The number of grants may vary. The duration of grant is 3 years. Students must hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) or a Master of Arts (M.A.) or equivalent. Undergraduate students who will be awarded such a degree before September 25, 2013, may also apply. The scholarship covers € 12.500 per year, insurance and other allowances. Selection is based on academic achievements and Research Project. The International students can apply for this scholarship. A certain number of 3 years grants will be available.

Selection Criteria: The Selection Committee, appointed by the Director of the School, will assign a score between 1 and 100 based on the academic achievements, the submitted scientific publications, as well as on the Research Project (both in terms of quality and relevance for the PhD programme).

The Rotary Peace Fellowship provides peace leaders with two options to pursue academic and practical training in peace and conflict resolution. Candidates can apply for either a master’s-level degree or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict studies at one of six Rotary Peace Centers.

Option One: Master’s Degree Option
  • “Building the leaders of tomorrow”
  • 15-24 months of Rotary-funded graduate study toward a master’s degree at one of our five Rotary Centers (University of Queensland, Bradford University, Duke/UNC, ICU and Uppsala University)
  • Funding includes tuition, travel expenses and room and board
  • Training in the root causes of conflict, theories of international relations, and effective models of cooperation, conflict resolution, and negotiation including course work and applied field experience
  • A growing network of committed alumni employed around the world in diplomacy, government, non-governmental organizations and private corporations.

Professional Certificate Option
  • “Strengthening the leaders of today”
  • Three month professional development certificate program fully funded at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand

  • Theoretical foundational knowledge during eight weeks in the classroom and practical experience during two through three week on site fieldwork

The master’s-level program requires, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, three years of relevant work experience and proficiency in a 2nd language. The certificate program requires five years of experience and proficiency in English. Up to 100 fellows are selected every year in a globally competitive process based on personal, academic, and professional achievements.

Talleres del Centro Iberoamericano de Desarrollo Estratégico Urbano - CIDEU

Los Talleres de Especialización son acciones formativas de 2 meses de duración, que se llevan a cabo con las herramientas de Internet, sobre temas de interés específico vinculados a la praxis de la estrategia urbana. Se trata de acciones abiertas a la participación de profesionales iberoamericanos vinculados al pensamiento de la ciudad, que deseen reflexionar y estudiar proyectos estratégicos desarrollados en las ciudades miembros de CIDEU, que ofrecen soluciones novedosas y modélicas a los asuntos objeto de especialización.
Los contenidos del Taller están basados en la aplicación del principio “reflexionar para actuar”, e incluyen cuatro ámbitos:
  • La conceptualización y análisis prospectivo y tendencial del asunto objeto del Taller.
  • La reflexión sobre las estrategias de aplicación.
  • La identificación y estudio de proyectos estratégicos modélicos que hayan implementado con éxito las estrategias propuestas.
  • La elaboración en diálogo colaborativo con las otras personas participantes del Taller, de las conclusiones personales en relación con los intereses de cada persona participante.
 A través de estos talleres, CIDEU colabora directamente en la formación específica y de calidad de profesionales vinculados a la planificación estratégica urbana, consolidando sus conocimientos y fomentando el intercambio de experiencias entre los participantes.
