This programme is designed to further qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. The programme offers very good graduates with a first university degree the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance for the social, political and economic development of their home country. With the knowledge and experience acquired in Germany the scholarship holders should later contribute to the establishment of democratically oriented economic and social systems aimed at overcoming social tensions. In addition, the training at German institutions of higher education should especially qualify the scholarship holders as partners in political and economic cooperation with Germany. With this programme, DAAD intends to contribute to the support of Good Governance and civil society structures in selected partner countries and regions.

Objetivos
Apoyar la creatividad en sus diferentes manifestaciones y contribuir para que el país disponga de un grupo cada vez más numeroso de jóvenes artistas, estimulando su perfeccionamiento en diferentes disciplinas artísticas y con el fin de elevar sus niveles de excelencia, el Banco de República patrocina estudios formales en Academias de Arte del más alto nivel o posgrado en instituciones extranjeras de reconocida excelencia académica, a profesionales que se hayan destacado a nivel académico, o empíricos que demuestren méritos y cualidades artísticas, en las áreas citadas.

Requisitos para los aspirantes
• Ser Colombiano, mayor de edad.
• Haber sido aceptado en un programa formal académico de las áreas enunciadas en el capítulo II del reglamento ofrecido por un centro docente extranjero de formación en Artes Plásticas y de reconocida excelencia académica. La carta de aceptación que expida el centro docente debe estar condicionada sólo a la demostración de recursos financieros.
• No estar cursando estudios en el exterior.

El Banco de la República otorga hasta cinco cupos para estudios a nivel de doctorado en economía y un cupo para estudios, preferiblemente de doctorado, en derecho económico en las mejores universidades de los Estados Unidos, Canadá, Francia, Reino Unido y otras.
